Designing and development of novel biological drugs:
The
Center for Biotechnology will be actively engaged in identifying
prospective therapeutic cytokines, modification of action of existing
cytokines or developing antagonist to cytokines. Furthermore, use of
cytokines as a diagnostic tool will be investigated. 1. Screening,
Identification and isolation of bio-active molecules from herbal and
medicinal plants and marine flora and fauna, in particular, anticancer,
antiviral and immuno-modulatory molecules. 2. Development of Probiotics | The Centre is offering B. Sc + M. Sc. Integrated Program in Medical Biotechnology . The
students enrolled in this program, upon successful completion of three
years and obtaining the B.Sc. degree, have the following choice:  To continue their Masters Program (M.Sc Medical Biotechnology) at P.I.M.S.
or To continue their Masters Program (M.Sc Molecular Biology) at University of Skövde, Sweden, which
has agreed to admit students from Center for Biotechnology, P.I.M.S.,
Loni, after they complete their B.Sc. Medical Biotechnology Course
